For those of us who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, there is no more important Scripture than the prayer of Jesus, as it is recorded in the Gospel of John, chapter 17. In this prayer, Jesus prayed for those first disciples, and He also prayed for "all who believe in Me through their word. "And the heart of that prayer is "...that they may be one" (Verses 22 and 23).
God designed us, all 100 trillion cells of us, and put them together perfectly. We are the result, but more than that, he designed a life for all that he created. Find the design and it works; ignore it, and it doesn't.
Of all that we do in the Christian life, nothing is as important as our prayer lives. Prayer must be communicating with God, yet, not all "prayers" meet that test. We want to pray, need to pray, but sometimes the words just fall flat. I have discovered that simply taking a little walk with Jesus opens the door wide open. Walk and talk, talk and listen. He wants to hear from us, and we need to hear from Him. Walking with Jesus is a very good way to make it work.
This book is about Truth. Jesus said “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life...” (John 14:6). The God Who designed and created us also designed a Life for us. This book is about that Life. Every page of “To Be Like Jesus” is grounded in the Bible, the Writt en Word of the Living God. Coming to know Christ in the miracle of “New Birth” is only the beginning; this book is about the conti nuati on of that Life. I came to know the Lord Jesus Christ in 1959. I remember the night very well. No revival meeti ng, no bells or whistles, but on that night my enti re life changed. I had wanted a career in country music.. .wanted it badly. But that night I walked out of my wife’s parents home into the driveway, looked up into the sky where I thought that God was, and prayed the simple litt le prayer “God, have mercy on me, a sinner.” That night Jesus Christ came into my life, and the rest is all detail. Bless the Lord, 0 my soul, aud all that is within me, bless His Holy Name. Edward E. “Gene” Stacks
How Safe Is Your Soul? will help you know and understand that our greatest purpose in this life is to answer the calling of God to be like Him. Be holy and be perfect for God is. Nobody is perfect is a deceitful cliche and a pathetic excuse discouraging many not to respond to this glorious calling to become God in God. Wide indeed is the path to perdition because of our diminishing desire to become a saint. Narrow is the way to God and heaven because many have their own priority and personal agenda contrarious to Gods. This book is for everyone reminding us that we have a greater purpose more than our own. The SOS MIssionaries is inviting you to join us in the mission of serving and saving souls. We have a formation program suited for everyone who desire to participate in the mission of the church saving all souls.
I wish you knew my Father, the way I know Him.., the way I've always known Him. In fact, I wish you knew me. Everyone knows Adam, especially after he chose the woman over GOD and the world you live in, now, is in the shape it's in because of Adam. If only you knew that GOD's plan for mankind wasn't abandoned, when Adam left EDEN. If only you knew that GOD created 'another' in Adam's absence. It's time you knew me.
Analyzing The American Divide "Analyzing The American Divide" highlights and debunks propaganda promoted by Europeans, towards people of African descent, while addressing charges of cannibalism, high crime rates, low IQ claims by race realists, and the so called, lack of advanced civilizations by Black Africans. This book is a must read for all, as Brother Saye provides an extensive outlook on how the British, and the Loyalists, viewed the American Revolution, while also illuminating the real dynamics, surrounding America’s Civil War.
Sexual orientation has become a heated issue in our society. The call for gay rights and the confusion surrounding the church’s role in this struggle emulates much of the bewilderment experienced by homosexuals themselves. No one understands this better than Brother Timothy, a man who struggled with his sexual identity and endured social anxiety and addiction for years. Now a Franciscan Friar with the Ecumenical Franciscan Order, Brother Timothy chronicles his extraordinary journey in dealing with his sexual orientation from a difficult childhood, through sexual addiction as an adult, and finally, to the complete surrender of his life to the Lord. Written in four parts, A Child by Mercy reveals Timothy’s personal experiences from childhood through adulthood and then digs deeper into the mechanisms, psychology, and spiritual aspects of sexual identity. In addition, Timothy exposes how evangelicals and gay activists have misused key Bible texts to further their agenda, and addresses the politically charged issue of same-sex orientation and the viewpoints of the traditional church and gay rights activists. But above all, he presents foundational principles from God that can help anyone overcome addiction if they will expose their complete heart to the Lord. A moving declaration of hope and healing, A Child by Mercy will draw your heart and soul closer to a radical love for all of God’s children through its message of reconciliation.
In his foreword to Fr. Victor Warkulwizs work, The Doctrines of Genesis 1-11, Bishop Robert A. Vasa wrote: Today the Catholic Church has well-developed theologies of redemption and sanctification but no well-developed theology of creation. That is because so many of her influential thinkers have abandoned the sound creation theology of the Fathers and Doctors of the Church and have embraced instead the false principles of evolutionism. Bishop Vasa went on to commend Fr. Warkulwiz for his accurate, thorough, and readable answers . . . to many questions about origins that perplex the modern Catholic. In this Compendium of the Doctrines of Genesis 1-11, Brother Charles Madden, OFM, Conv., makes these accurate, thorough, and readable answers even more accessible to Catholic readers by presenting short, succinct summaries of each of the sixteen doctrines Fr. Victor has drawn from the first eleven chapters of the book of Genesis. The Compendium is an invaluable resource for Catholic universities, schools, CCD programs, and home libraries.

This work contains the heretofore unpublished memoirs of Brother Gilbert (a.k.a. Philip F. Cairnes), the Xaverian brother generally credited with steering the Babe to his first professional contract. Ruth was raised by the Xaverian Brothers, a Catholic religious order, at St. Mary's Industrial School from 1902 (when he was only 7) until 1914. These reminiscences begin with Babe Ruth's departure from St. Mary's and concentrate on his early playing years. An historical introduction by the editor of these memoirs, Harry Rothgerber, details the history and relationship that existed between this organization of Catholic educators and the man who was to become the most influential baseball player and greatest slugger who ever lived. Brother John Joseph Sterne, the book's forewordist, recounts a St. Mary's band fundraising trip in which the band accompanied the Yankees through the American League cities at the end of the 1920 season. Several previously unpublished photos from the Xaverian Order complement the text.

We're proud to introduce a new, controversial, dynamic book featuring hard-ball prose, and social/racial storytelling delivered with deadly force - a Hell-fire and brimstone style. No other opinionated writer can stand up against the wit and versatility that comes through this obviously caring, unchained package af experiential thoughts and urban prose. "Engaging and clever as any recent radical Black writer, produced by the same concrete jungles that have given America Jazz, Hip-Hop and baggy pants, I Beg Your Damn Pardon literally kept both Blacks and Whites on our staff turning its pages and debating the serious issues raised - long into the night. "I Beg Your Damn Pardon is a red, black, and green-poetic magnum opus of "truth-telling," as echoed from the heart of a Black American. This book, this classic work, demands honest critique and an open mind, as the contents slam us into the often hidden face of Black folk. Sometimes it's an angry face, still standing in the shadows of prejudice and hate holding an "alley-apple" (a red house brick) used for throwing at one's enemies. Alley-apples can hurt us as projectiles when thrown at us, but this book is a well-composed, hard-hitting canon. Definitely a must-read. Just know when to duck!" -Big Brother Earl Roberts
Adelphos Mou (My Brother) is the story of an attempt to fix a football game by a downtrodden Greek-American gambler. To cover his marker with a violent Mafia family, he approaches his late father’s old bookmaking partner, now with a son who has become a star college football quarterback. The quarterback prepares for the last game of his career, a meaningless game in which his team is heavily favored. Shaving points would be very easy if father and son were to go along. They refuse. They know such an act would put the young quarterback’s promising professional career in serious jeopardy. Things quickly unravel for all involved leading to acts of betrayal and murder. The father (Big George), his son (Niko) the quarterback and the brother (Stavros) face tests of love, honor, loyalty and revenge. Adelphos Mou is a story of love, tradition, karma and injustice. The main characters are first and second generation Greek-Americans who face the conflict of their ancient traditions against the culture of the modern world. The story is thickly plotted with characters like a chorus in a classic Greek tragedy. The story begins in the underworld of Pittsburgh, winds through New York, London, Las Vegas, Iceland and Greece. The characters, each tainted and impure in their own ways, act upon their motivations, both honorable and selfish.
The Angel and the Rowboat is about how God picks up a teenage boy and his rowboat and puts him in different stories of the Bible. But he can also see behind the scenes: the angels and the demons who influence those events; the animosity between St. Michael and Lucifer; the war between Heaven and Hell. He witnesses the creation of the world, the salvation of the world and key events in between. In the storys climax, we witness the Crucifixion and Resurrection from Hells perspective. For three days, they think theyve won but then, of course, we witness the Harrowing of Hell ~ the Catholic term for when Christ plunged down deep into Hades and rescued the souls who had been held captive there since the beginning of time, and then leads them in a triumphal procession back up into Heaven. It is the ultimate tale of redemption.
