The heart conveys messages beyond what ears can hear. After the death of her fiancé, Catherine Johnson, a New York schoolteacher in 1902, travels to Nebraska to teach in a one-room school. When violence erupts in the sleepy town, Catherine saves deaf stable hand, Jim Kinney from torture by drunken thugs. As she begins teaching Jim to read and sign, attraction grows between them. The warmth and humor in this silent man transcends the need for speech and his eyes tell her all about his feelings for her. But the obstacles of class difference and the stigma of his handicap are almost insurmountable barriers to their growing affection. Will Catherine flaunt society's rules and allow herself to love again? Can Jim make his way out of poverty as a deaf man in a hearing world? And will the lovers overcome a corrupt robber baron who has a stranglehold on the town? Romance, sensuality and adventure abound in this heartfelt tale.

Memoirs of Everyday Miracles depicts encounters with angels and miraculous answers to prayer in this uplifting memoir of a womans dedication to God and her family. A caregiver at the age of nine for her dying mother, Bonnie makes a promise to God after receiving a miracle. The answered prayer leaves her with a deep faith and a firm belief: with God, all things are possible. Bonnie grows up to be a singer/ songwriter, and she and her mother set out to find fame in the music business. But stardom eludes Bonnie until she marries a man in Phoenix, Arizona, and finds success when she becomes the featured vocalist at his nightclub. When her mother and brothers health begin to fail, Bonnie juggles her singing career with trips to California, where they live, to care for them. Rededicating her life to God, she sets out on her own to become a full-time caregiver for her mother. In a collection of short stories, you will see Gods hand in Bonnies life as He gifts her with the desires of her heart, including a new career in music, working for gospel singer Vern Jackson, and a friendship with her mentor, Grammy Award-winning artist Jody Miller. From family pets to face cream to new songs, Bonnie's prayers are answered as God provides, in wondrous ways, all her everyday needs. In this beautifully written work, searing and unflinchingly honest, Bonnie makes a remarkable transition from actress to author with ease and flair. This shockingly naked account recounts how her depression almost robbed her of her shine and how she continues to fight this darkness. After Bonnie unsuccessfully tried to pursue her acting career in Hollywood, she was diagnosed with clinical depression. At last her darkness had a name, and there was a way to overcome it. With the failed Hollywood adventure as her lowest point, Bonnie begins the painful climb back to a life of health and mental stability. This memoir will have you cheering, crying, and falling in love all at the same time"--Provided by publisher.
The lies of homosexuality dissipate because a life of purity in Christ Jesus decidedly removes the homosexual deception. Each step toward Jesus brings us closer to His image, and we are changed. We emerge free to be exactly whom Father God created us to be. Leaving all secrets with honesty and transparency before God and man, forgiving ourselves and all abusers, we emerge in our true identity with a heterosexual desire. This desire for the opposite sex is as natural as apple pie. Leaving the judgments, the facades, the sins, and all idols, the stark truth remains. Our true identity is found in Jesus Christ alone.

ManReaders: A Woman's Guide to Dysfunctional Men is a self-help book to teach women how to check out men before entering into a relationship that could lead to disaster. This book provides important information about the millions of men who suffer from various issues including sexual, emotional, and mental health problems making them bad risks as partners. Bonnie Kaye, M.Ed., a nationally recognized and established relationship counselor for nearly 30 years for women involved with or married to sexually dysfunctional men, clearly defines the potential problems that women need to be aware of before getting too emotionally involved with "broken men who can't be fixed." Kaye provides a checklist for women on how to check out a man before investing more time with him in order to avoid these pitfalls. Women coming out of destructive marriages/relationships are often vulnerable to men who are "predators" and repeat the same mistakes in their future choices unless they are aware of what to look for. This book also strongly focuses on how the lack of self-esteem or low self-esteem can influence women's future unhappiness and how learned behavior also plays a major role in making poor decisions in relationships. Kaye openly discusses her own personal relationship failures based on her lack of self-esteem. Also included is a checklist of traits that women with low-self esteem possess that attract dysfunctional men. This book is also extremely helpful for women currently in dysfunctional marriages and relationships in helping them understand what the problems are so they can move on rather than waste more time staying with men who will never meet their needs. About the Author Bonnie Kaye, M.Ed., is an internationally recognized relationship counselor/author in the field of straight/gay marriages. She has provided relationship counseling and advice for nearly 30 years to more than 75,000 women who have sexually dysfunctional husbands due to homosexuality, bisexuality, or sexual addictions. She is considered an authority in this field by other professionals and the media. Kaye has published seven books on straight/gay relationships, which have sold thousands of copies. Her website www.Gayhusbands.com has consistently remained in the number one position on Google, Yahoo, and other major search engines since its launching in 2000. When media contacts want an expert, they go to Bonnie Kaye who has more experience and expertise than any other person in the United States. Her official book website is located at www.BonnieKayeBooks.com. Kaye's support network has over 7,000 women around the world who receive her free monthly newsletter. She also has online computer support chat as well as a weekly internet radio show on Sundays, Straight Wives Talk Show on www.Blogtalkradio.com that can be accessed 24/7 around the world. Kaye's other books include: The Gay Husband Checklist for Women Who Wonder; Straight Wives: Shattered Lives (Volumes 1 and 2); Doomed Grooms: Gay Husbands of Straight Wives; Bonnie Kaye's Straight Talk; How I Made My Husband Gay: Myths About Straight Wives; and Over the Cliff: Gay Husbands in Straight Marriages.

Wrangell is named after Baron Ferdinand von Wrangell of the Russian American Company, who was charged with extending Russia's fur trade into Southeast Alaska. To that end, he ordered a fort to be established in 1833, on Wrangell Island near the mouth of the Stikine River. The Stikine Tlingit Indians, who were scattered in villages nearby, moved closer to take advantage of fur trading opportunities. In 1839, the fort passed into the hands of the British Hudson's Bay Company. With the purchase of Alaska in 1867, the need was urgent to enforce the United States' presence in its recently acquired territory. An American fort was built, which the US Army occupied during a series of gold rushes, ending with the Klondike Rush in 1898. Wrangell began to grow beyond its boom-and-bust origins during the 20th century, becoming a thriving hub for lumber, fishing, and mining, as well as the newly minted tourist industry.

Bonnie-Jane McCabe (now Mason) lived this book. She wrote these letters to her family during one exciting year in her young life. Years later, she started the book, collected the letters, copied them to her computer, and organized her book in her computer. It always needed just one more editing pass to make sure its error-free. Before she was finished, a disastrous computer-crash appeared to her, to have ended her book project. This version, published from a recently rediscovered, early paper preview draft, is my gift to Bonnie, my daughter. Prepared for publication by: Selden P. McCabe, Jr. 2009

“In this world there is love, there is fame, there is wealth, but the glory of the glories is to be a new girl in a little beach town in June.” The girl is Virginia and this is the story of her sexual awakening and admission into the never-changing mysteries in a southern California seaside town in the golden, long-ago summers of the 1930s. The little beach town is San Soleo (not to be found on any map), jerry-built just in time for the Great Depression, where time stopped when the money ran out. Virginia, in the course of the novel, evades rape, seduction, and drowning to reach a higher rung on the ladder of maturity. Bonnie Barrett has taken the oldest of themes and closed the time gap: she has caught the period and place with the fidelity of an old Glenn Miller recording, yet made it new, eventful, spicy, funny and harrowingly true. But more than that, she has evoked the bittersweet redolence of lost summers, lost youth, lost love, the time that for all of us lies drowning like Atlantis, now in a sea of changes.
Womens Liberation and the Sublime is a passionate report on the state of feminist thinking and practice after the linguistic turn. A critical assessment of masculinist notions of the sublime in modern and postmodern accounts grounds the author's positive and constructive recuperation of sublime experience in a feminist voice.
