What is death? Why do we die? and what happens after we die? Over the centuries, philosophers and theologians of the world’s religions have offered answers to the dilemma of death, yet this subject is rarely given the detailed attention it deserves in the contemporary Christian church. As Christians, how does our view of death impact the communication of the gospel in today’s pluralistic societies? In this study, Dr Bobby Bose not only develops a solid biblical theology of death, he also reviews the teachings of contemporary and historical Christian theologians around the world, and examines the “state-after-death” beliefs of Hindus, Muslims and Secular Humanists. The author shows that “state-after- death” was a central component of conversation in the early church, and is also a major component of God’s mission to rescue humanity. As the East converges with the West, it is vital that Christians develop a missiological approach to “state-after-death” that will encourage positive engagement with people of other faiths and beliefs.

Created in 1836 from land held formerly by the Cherokee Indians, Cherokee County is situated in the northeast corner of Alabama, bordered by Georgia to the east. Within these pages, the county's rich and varied history is illuminated by vintage photographs, and its past is brought to life in the faces of its early settlers. The families of the Reverend Whitefield Anthony and others settled at Mudd Creek in 1831 in what was to become Cherokee County. From these first families developed a community that would grow and change along with a young and bustling America, welcoming new industries, farming fertile lands, and building churches and schools to feed the hearts and minds of its young. The photographs in this volume, illustrating the county's past as well as how it looks in the present day, were culled from a variety of sources, including the Cherokee County History Museum, the Pine Grove Baptist Church, and the private collections of many local families. Coupled with a historical narrative, these glimpses of yesteryear will evoke fond memories for all who have made Cherokee County home.
Does saving your family’s honour trump personal happiness? Will the god be appeased if you overfeed him and not help the needy? Will the law protect the stray dog that tears an eight-year-old into shreds? Is a deceased manual scavenger just another statistic who risks his life for a cleaner future? In the voice of the common man, Bobby Sachdeva questions our everyday practices in an unorthodox manner in Stories of Us. From Rishi to Parth and Lata to Rajnath, the hard-hitting and honest narratives are sure to inspire the common person to rethink the values long etched in our belief system.
“There are five Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John...and the Christian. But most people never read the first four.” There are any number of books on how to do evangelism. This book is different—it’s an invitation to actually live out the message of the gospel. Jesus’s original intention was for ordinary people like you and me to live lives that point others to the only Person who can give them hope for this life as well as the next—to visibly display the Good News of salvation through the Messiah and Redeemer of humankind. But many Christ followers today are either ridden with guilt for not telling others about Jesus or so silent that no one really knows they’re a Christian. The Fifth Gospel will help you wrestle with the critical issues involved in living out your faith in front of a watching and sometimes not-so-friendly world. Isn’t it time to become a witness for the One you profess to love? Prepare yourself to represent your Savior well and to discover a new way to do evangelism. Get ready for God to unleash the gospel through you!
Bobby Cinema has written seven detective stories in one book about each different character going through solving a difficult case, being in the action and deal with real intensive stuff they had to go through from solving cases. For these seven ordinary detectives and their team, their work usually ends up in a library, which is their sanctuary and a place to read and relax at the same time. The first detective series is called Raymond: Librarian PI. Ray Levenstein, a former FBI agent, took over the head librarian job from his friend Jerry who helped him get in the LAPD police academy and became his mentor when he grew up. He was forced into retirement when he was shot in the line of fire when he was a FBI agent. Ray was well respected and highly decorated as an FBI agent, but he decided to retire at a young age of thirty-five. He took over Jerrys job as a head librarian in the Los Angeles Public Library and decided to run a detective agency in his library since he has a PI license. He hires Kevin Sandler, Nick Arbuckle, and Alyson Harris who joined the PI team. Thank you for reading the Seven Librarian Detective series. I hope you enjoy reading them. Who knows, maybe I can come up with another princess story in another time. This is my seventh book that I turn my seven librarian detective stories in one book. See you next time, and the library is now closed. Good-bye!
Praise for The Other Side of the Hoop: The European Basketball Experience In talking about Basketball, it's on the same level as show business. There comes a time when we must move on and learn to do other things. I have been in it for 60 years. I learned years ago there are other things to do. So, in saying all of this, don't be one thing. Be many things and have another path to walk. Life is ever-learning. – Dr. Otis Williams of the Temptations "The Other Side of the Hoop" is one of the few books about the European Professional Basketball experience. The stories shared in this book are not just for basketball enthusiasts; the rich lessons learned apply to all audiences. The book takes you on a journey through the highs and lows of stardom, fortune, and temptation. Through basketball championships and defeats, Bobby Kinzer reveals the journey's end at which he arrives, which will surprise you. – James Brown, CBS Hall of Fame Sports Broadcaster Bob (Big BOB) Kinzer. We first met at the Boys & Girls Club on 9th & P streets in Washington, D.C. I believe you were home in between seasons from Europe. I've heard many stories of guys that went overseas to play professionally. But my curiosity has grown over the years as I've tried to imagine all the complexities that come with that experience. When I think of my experience transitioning into the NBA, it seems the challenge of making the adjustment going overseas may be even more difficult. This book will help players better understand the European Professional Basketball Experience should they decide to take the journey. It will also serve as a guide for non-basketball people to learn how to cope with life's everyday challenges. Of course, if you’ve learned the art of assimilation, it becomes a wonderful opportunity to meet new people, see the world, and experience a new culture. Much Success with The Other Side of the Hoop! – Phil Chenier, Former National Basketball Association Player/Champion, Washington Bullets
The ground segment is the fundamental backbone of every satellite project, yet it is usually not visible to the public or the end user of a satellite service. Also the bulk of existing published space literature tends to focus on the satellite or its subsystems. This book tries to fill this gap and addresses systems engineering concepts applied to the design, development, qualification, and deployment of the ground control segment required to operate a single satellite, a constellation, or even a manned space vehicle. The domain of ground segment engineering has significantly evolved in recent years, mainly driven by major advances in the IT sector. Hardware virtualisation or the availability of on-demand cloud computing services are typical examples of new technologies that have changed fundamental architectural concepts previously standard in heritage ground segments. Furthermore, the stark increase of cyber attacks - today a major risk to almost all critical IT based infrastructure - has made a cyber threat resilient architecture to become one of the indispensable design requirements for ground segment engineers. The new mega constellations recently put into space deploying up to several hundred of flying objects have put very demanding needs on the ground segment for automated satellite operations. These topics and more are addressed in the book’s chapters, along with a detailed explanation of the most relevant components of a typical ground segment architecture. The basic functional requirements, design features, and the most important ground and space segment interfaces are addressed and explained in detail, supported by a wealth of figures for easier understanding. This book is kept at an introductory level, allowing newcomers to get familiar with this fairly complex subject matter. It is therefore suitable for graduate students, but can equally serve as a valuable source of information for already experienced space engineers who seek to gain a deeper understanding of the ground segment infrastructure and related systems engineering processes. It can also help project managers to better interact with their systems engineers, satellite developers to define their ground segment interfaces, and satellite operators to improve their flight and ground procedures. It is very well suited for everyone intending to start a career in satellite ground segment systems engineering.

Until the publication of this new book there had been a lack of well-founded guidelines for evaluating concentrations of lead in soil and its relationship to human health. Thus, much confusion has existed among regulatory agencies, industries, public health officials, and the medical community about the evaluation and remedying of lead-contaminated soils. Lead in Soil: Recommended Guidelines represents the combined efforts of a multi-disciplinary international task force from the Society for Environmental Geochemistry and Health (SEGH) whose members are experts in the fields of lead pollution and toxicology. It provides an international consensus concerning environmental lead and blood lead-especially in children. The task force evaluated the evidence and made recommendations for guidelines to appraise lead concentration. It also studied the influence of soil and other sources of lead on blood lead concentrations. A model was prepared that allows the user to select appropriate target levels of blood lead while allowing for a variety of environmental situations or regulatory criteria.
