If you have anxiety or suffer from panic attacks, little things like driving, being at a party where you don’t know anyone, or even going to the grocery store can seem overwhelming. But these little things are a part of everyday life, and if you try to avoid them, you may end up feeling alienated, lonely, and unfulfilled. Furthermore, simply avoiding anxiety-causing situations will not help you to conquer your anxiety. If anything, it can make it worse! So how can you take control of your anxiety symptoms, once and for all? In The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Workbook for Anxiety, three mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) experts provide mindfulness meditations and exercises to help sooth anxiety, understand common triggers, and live more fully in the moment. Developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, MBSR is a powerful, evidence-based treatment model that fuses mindfulness meditation and yoga, and has been proven effective in treating a wide range of chronic disorders and diseases. The mindfulness practices in MBSR help you to cultivate a greater awareness of the connection between your body and mind, and can help you identify and move past the toxic thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that lie at the root of your anxiety. If you are ready to take the first step toward managing your fears, anxiety, and worry, this book can help show you the way.

De Wit & Meyera s distinctive, multi-perspective approach has helped thousands of students and professionals around the world develop into critical and creative strategic thinkers. By carefully guiding readers through a variety of perspectives, De Wit & Meyer show how, more than ever, effective strategy requires the ability to consider strategic issues in many different ways. To encourage creative strategic thinking, De Wit and Meyer contrast the most important approaches and outline the major issues and differences of opinion. Managers are challenged to combine the strengths of these approaches into their own strategy synthesis.

This Element reviews the first 120 years of organization theory, examining its development from the sociology of organizations and management theory. It is initially organized around two streams of thought. The first is found in political economy and the sociology of organizations, with an emphasis on understanding the new organizations that arose in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The second derives from practitioner-scholars, whose aim was to provide theories and approaches to managing these new organizations. The Element then shows how each of the streams of understanding and managing came together to produce organization theory. In doing this, it also describes how the institutional frameworks in academic associations, academic centres and journals came out of these approaches and how they strengthened the development of organization theory.
Fifty years ago the world celebrated its victory over tyranny & the most trying times of the twentieth century. In the United States the war effort had embraced everyone. Nowhere was this more obvious than in the heartland, where people were united by camaraderie beyond the norm in confronting the challenges of World War II. Fifty years later, a catharsis occurs, & the citizens of one typical Midwestern community, Fort Madison, Iowa, tell all. They have stories of young men over Europe in B-17's, foot soldiers in every campaign in the European & Pacific theaters of war, POW's in German & Japanese hands, & the sacrifices made by those on the home front. This book is bound to bring back many memories to those who lived in these trying times &, it will serve as testimony to the generations that follow of the sacrifices they made on behalf of freedom. The belief that managers and potential managers will profit from understanding the major conflicting approaches to strategy forms the point of departure for this book. Ignoring the profound differences between the various schools of thought does not enhance a manager’s or student’s capacity for strategic thinking. Rather, it is only when there is knowledge of the various points of view can strategists truly see the range of options open to them. Then they can find a way to choose between them, or integrate them, to be practically effective. This book is intended for readers who need a strategy text, without the case material.
