The extraordinary autobiography of astronaut Fred Haise, one of only 24 men to fly to the moon In the gripping Never Panic Early, Fred Haise, Lunar Module Pilot for Apollo 13, offers a detailed firsthand account of when disaster struck three days into his mission to the moon. An oxygen tank exploded, a crewmate uttered the now iconic words, “Houston, we’ve had a problem here,” and the world anxiously watched as one of history’s most incredible rescue missions unfolded. Haise brings readers into the heart of his experience on the challenging mission--considered NASA’s finest hour--and reflects on his life and career as an Apollo astronaut. In this personal and illuminating memoir, illustrated with black-and-white photographs, Haise takes an introspective look at the thrills and triumphs, regrets and disappointments, and lessons that defined his career, including his years as a military fighter pilot and his successful 20-year NASA career that would have made him the sixth man on the moon had Apollo 13 gone right. Many of his stories navigate fear, hope, and resilience, like when he crashed while ferrying a World War II air show aircraft and suffered second and third-degree burns over 65 percent of his body, putting him in critical condition for ten days before making a heroic recovery. In Never Panic Early, Haise explores what it was like to work for NASA in its glory years and demonstrates a true ability to deal with the unexpected.

A writer usually has that one project that absolutely defines him. It's his MASTERWORK It's that short story, that novel, that anthology-whatever it is that is his most important writing. It's the project he's worked on for years-maybe all his life. It's what matters most to him. It's his MAGNUM OPUS It's built with all his skills and experience, all his hopes and dreams, all of the many deep facets that make him who he is. It's a TOUR DE FORCE It's the project that, when he's gone, he hopes will represent him forever-that thing that will outlive him, and show others what he felt, what he believed, what he could do... that thing that will tell others that he was here, and who he was. It's his CROWNING ACHIEVEMENT Here is a collection of an entire lifetime of poetry-three books in one volume, representing so much that was so important to the poet. He's gone now, but this collection lives-the poet immortalized. It's Bill R. Moore's LIFE'S TRIUMPH
America's answer to the Soviet threat in the 1960s was a race to the moon. President John F. Kennedy challenged the American people to land a man on the moon and return him safely to Earth by the end of the decade. That massive effort required the skills of thousands of Americans. Reaching into the heart of the country, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration pulled young engineers fresh out of college ready to take on this amazing task. Among the many college graduates was a young man from the small town of Colony, Oklahoma. Tom Weichel had grown up on a farm and knew common sense and hard work. These qualities suited him perfectly for the jobs NASA had in mind. Weichel went to Houston with a new Physics degree and a new wife. He and the other young engineers helped America achieve one of the greatest accomplishments of all time - landing a man on the moon.

In recent days a Prophet friend of mine spoke this wisdom from God: If God has called you to something, a ministry, a calling, that's fabulous. But, being called to something will never matter, or produce fruit until the one being called literally "Steps Into" the calling. This book represents that "Stepping Into" God's calling for me. My utmost desire is to bring hope, faith-growth, and God's love into the hearts of all who read this... In Jesus' Name, Amen.God bless America, God bless you!
Christian Musings Volume I Evidence of God's Grace This volume contains 33 individual commentaries regarding my earlier thoughts related to a variety of God's dealings with His creation. Included also are several observations regarding sin and its consequences along with studies about a saving faith and many false faiths that lead to damnation when one falsely believes that he or she are ok. The greatest tragedies occur when one believes one is a saved Christian yet fails to recognize what really provides salvation. Included are commentaries regarding a variety of biblically related issues that I pray will add to the reader's understanding of God's inerrant Word which we call the Holy Bible. These were written shortly after I came to the belief in Jesus and the profound importance of what the Bible would reveal if one were to study it single-mindedly and through the discernment given to us through the Holy Spirit. This occurred late in my life. As I look back I can see that God's hand was on me from birth. I was 70 years old when I first opened the Bible to read it. At age 68 I was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I was given 6 months to a year to live. God's "undercover" guidance, led me through many alternative treatments. All traces of my cancer left me 18 months later. I've been cancer free for 17 years. Only after I began reading the Bible did I recognize Who extended my life. He then gave me an insatiable hunger to better understand His Word and to share this through these "musings." This and the subsequent volumes are the result of this most blessed ministry that has since been the main purpose of my life.
4 ways to Sunday is a play on words. Sunday is when most of us celebrate the Sabbath and the Sabbath Eans a day of rest. In this book I'm not talking about a day I am talking about a lifestyle. I'm talking about 4 distinct ways to find rest in God let it go, let him lead, build it right, and anchor your soul. Scripture states that when God fights our battles we rest and trust in him for the outcome. The scripture also says in Exodus 20:11 that God instituted a day of rest and he blessed it ...there is a blessing on the rest of God when we enter his rest we're entering into a blessed life. God never intended for us to do live by ourselves or should its responsibilities on our own. Jeremiah 6: 16-17 NLT stop at the cross roads and look around ask for the old godly way and walk in it and Travel it's path and you will find rest for your souls. - Dr. Bill More, excerpt from 4 Ways to Sunday Finding Rest in a Restless World Four ways to Sunday offers 17 chapters to help you discover and find rest for your soul. It will help you live less stressed and anxious and to be able to enjoy the life God has planned for you. A restless society Finding your Sabbath life Our part in peace Conquering the enemy of unrest Rest and provision Bloom where you're planted Anchor your soul The Lord our shepherd The challenge that follow victory Casting your cares
