That was all before her family became a victim of their environment. Before finding her Savior, she endured being homeless, teen pregnancies, an abusive relationship, jail, being raped, drugs, the death of her love ones and the biggest fight of her life, breaking the generational curse that plagued her family. The secret will not be ignored or lost or forgotten. It will not be silenced. Libby wanted to blame the flood that came and stayed until all hope for replanting was lost, drowned their milk cows, and altered the landscape beyond recognition. For years she believed the flood caused the terrible rift that came between Mom and Dad, for the way her mom grew silent and pushed them all away, and for the anger and sadness that tore her dad apart. But there is another reason, a betrayal and an act of rage with consequences so devastating, it must be kept secret. Libby witnesses the tragedy, and in her six-year-old mind, mixes what is real and imagined, until the true memory is repressed. It is decades later when Libby experiences panic attacks which threaten to unhinge her, that the awful memories come back. And she learns, even though her sisters did not know the secret, their lives, too, were changed by it. A Land No Map Can Find is told from the lens of a child as she grows into adulthood, in a struggle against the destructive behaviors of adults, and the consequences of their actions.
I'm Coming Out of This is written by Beverly Ann Smith-Glasper. This book is a literary concept and a tool to show women as well as men how they can come out of domestic altercations yet leaning and depending on the Lord. There is an answer, there is hope, there is a compelling comforter which is the Holy Ghost to see you through every aspect of your life if you yield that power to God. There is no weapon that is formed against us that is able to prosper and to take over and to cancel out the divine assignment that the Lord has placed over each and every one of our lives. When man said no, Jesus says yes, you can you can do all things through Christ that that strengthens you. With this book, I'm admonishing all women and those men that have been victims as well to take off of garment of heaviness and replace it with a garment of praise knowing that your Father Who Art in Heaven has provided a scapegoat out every catastrophic situation that the devil meant for bad in your life. Now shake yourself, jump out of the fire, and stand therefore in the liberty we're in Christ have made you free because if I can come out the same God and the same deity it's able to bring you out as well. When the enemy came against you in like a flood, Jesus rose up a standard against them, and I command you, Satan, in the name of the Lord to take your hands off, move out of my way because I'm coming out and you can too!
Setting out on a journey westward with a small wagon train, George Wright uprooted his family from a dirt-poor farm in Ohio. He wasn't searching for gold or silver like others were; he had a dream of making a better life for his family. Despite the death of his wife during childbirth while on the trip, his dream never swayed, and he was determined to see it through, come hell or high water. George finally settled in a place outside of Silver City, Nevada. With blood, sweat, and tears, he managed to build a solid house for his children. Within a few years, he also had built up a working ranch despite animal attacks, Indian scares, and some unsavory characters. Then he discovered timber and found that it was quite a prosperous business. This business made him a rich man, so he had to go into Silver City more often. While there, he would always stop in at Millie's Café but not just for the good food. He favored one waitress in particular by the name of Joella Carson. Later on he would become her saving grace, but a future was uncertain when faced with two bank robbers.
Our Colonial grandmothers were much brighter and cheerier than the myth of dour, stiff, black-and-white women who have been so eternalized by Pilgrim-era paintings. Certainly do not "color" Deborah Bachiler Wing as wan and morose. Like most foremothers, Deborah was resolved and resolute, determined to create a home out of a cabin in the midst of a primeval forest. Deborah braved crossing the Atlantic as a widow with four young sons and her father, the Reverend Stephen Bachiler, an irascible fellow who attracted misfortune as though he were a magnet. While their crusade to find religious freedom was thwarted in New England as it had been in England, their experiences helped form the persevering character of America.
