This chapter provides an introduction to efficacious treatments for PTSD. Despite their efficacy, many patients do not respond to these treatments or have persistent symptoms. Fragments of Trauma and the Social Production of Suffering: Trauma, History, and Memory offers a kaleidoscope of perspectives that highlight the problem of traumatic memory.
