There is no blueprint for grieving. There are not any steps, directions, or instructions to understanding our pain. There are no words of wisdom that can change our situation and no medicine to heal the wound left when our heart breaks. I cannot give you any advice or a recipe on how to grieve, nor tell you how long to grieve, how you should feel, or what actions to take to cope with your pain. I can only say that God does not make mistakes. I can also share with you my experiences, my journey, my faith, and my glory dance steps of life. Your season of being with the love of your life who has gone on to glory is over. Accept that and dont put a question mark where God has put a period. I can only tell you what God did to heal my pain, and what He did for me, He will do for you. This life He gave me is a present, and each day I wake up is me unwrapping that gift. If I hold a pity party rather than trying to discover what God would have me do, it sends a message to God that I do not appreciate His gift. Lifes road bends, twists, goes up hills, into valleys, streams, rivers, over mountains, into pot holes, and around curves. Around the next bend may be heartache or happiness, pain or pleasure, sunshine or rain. Regardless of what lies around the next bend, God is always there, waiting with outstretched arms to either catch you if you fall or teach you how to fly. When you get to the end of your rope hand it to God, He will tie it around your waist and help you stand.

Amir Khusrau (1253-1325) lived the greater part of adventurous life in Delhi; he composed in Persian, and also in Hindi. From the point of view of manuscript illustration, his most important work is his Khamsah (Quintet'). Khusrau's position as a link between cultures of Persia and India means that the early illustrated copies of the Khamsah have a particular interest. The first extant exemplar is from the Persian area in the late 14th century, but a case can be made that work was probably illustrated earlier in India.

Franklin Roosevelt's intentions during the three years between Munich and Pearl Harbor have been a source of controversy among historians for decades. Barbara Farnham offers both a theory of how the domestic political context affects foreign policy decisions in general and a fresh interpretation of FDR's post-Munich policies based on the insights that the theory provides. Between 1936 and 1938, Roosevelt searched for ways to influence the deteriorating international situation. When Hitler's behavior during the Munich crisis showed him to be incorrigibly aggressive, FDR settled on aiding the democracies, a course to which he adhered until America's entry into the war. This policy attracted him because it allowed him to deal with a serious problem: the conflict between the need to stop Hitler and the domestic imperative to avoid any risk of American involvement in a war. Because existing theoretical approaches to value conflict ignore the influence of political factors on decision-making, they offer little help in explaining Roosevelt's behavior. As an alternative, this book develops a political approach to decision-making which focuses on the impact that awareness of the imperatives of the political context can have on decision-making processes and, through them, policy outcomes. It suggests that in the face of a clash of central values decision-makers who are aware of the demands of the political context are likely to be reluctant to make trade-offs, seeking instead a solution that gives some measure of satisfaction to all the values implicated in the decision.

Living on Maryland's eastern shore, schoolteacher Rebecca Primus sent "home weeklies" to her parents in Hartford and also corresponded with friend Addie Brown, a domestic worker back home. Addie wrote voluminously to Rebecca, lamenting their separation and describing her struggle to achieve a semblance of security and stability. Around the same time, Rebecca's brother, Nelson, began writing home about his new life in Boston, as he set out to make a name and a career for himself as an artist. The letters describe their daily lives and touch on race, class, gender, religion, and politics, offering rare entry into individual black lives at that time. Through extensive archival research, Barbara J. Beeching also shows how the story of the Primus family intersects with changes over time in Hartford's black community and the country. Newspapers and census tracts, as well as probate, land, court, and vital records help her trace an arc of local black fortunes between 1830 and 1880. Seeking full equality, blacks sought refinement and respectability through home ownership, literacy, and social gains. One of the many paradoxes Beeching uncovers is that just as the Civil War was tearing the nation apart, a recognizable black middle class was emerging in Hartford. It is a story of individuals, family, and community, of expectation and disappointment, loss and endurance, change and continuity.
