Imagine a world where there was no internet, no mobile phones, tablets or any of the hi-fi gadgets that kids today are used to. Telephones (Landline), Transistors/Tape Recorders were the most high end gadgets of those times and were considered luxury items, found in only certain homes of middle class India. So how did children spend their time especially their holidays? Most holidays were mostly spent travelling (by train or bus) to meet relatives/friends or hosting them. This book takes the reader on an enjoyable trip down the memory lane to the 1970’s and attempts to recreate the memorable summer holiday of a little girl with her family. Growing up in a cosmopolitan city (Madras), Anju visits her home town (Trivandrum) during her summer holidays, which leaves an everlasting impact on her innocent mind forever. It turns out to be a remarkable vacation of new experiences, little adventures and lovely discoveries for Anju through her cousins, family members and friends. She experiences a new way of life amidst nature’s bounty that becomes an unforgettable part of her growing up, creating lifetime bonds.
There wasn't a single star in the universe until about 180 million years after the big bang. It took that long for gravity to gather clouds of hydrogen and forge them into stars. Many physicists think that vast clouds of dark matter, a still-unknown material that outweighs visible matter by more than five to one, provided a gravitational scaffold for the first galaxies and stars. Once the universe's first stars ignited, the light they unleashed packed enough punch to once again strip electrons from neutral atoms, which are building block of Life, a key chapter of the universe called reionization. In February 2018, an Australian team announced that they may have detected signs of this “cosmic dawn.” By 400 million years after the big bang, the first galaxies were born. In the billions of years since, stars, galaxies, and clusters of galaxies have formed and re-formed—eventually yielding our home galaxy, the Milky Way, and our cosmic home, the solar system. Even now the universe is expanding, and to astronomers' surprise, the pace of expansion is accelerating. It's thought that this acceleration is driven by a force that repels gravity called dark energy. We still don't know what dark energy is, but it’s thought that it makes up 68 percent of the universe's total matter and energy. Dark matter makes up another 27 percent. In essence, all the matter you've ever seen—from your first love to the stars overhead—makes up less than five percent of the universe. This evolution of expanding matter caused into life from the Sun to the Earth.

THE ORIGIN OF THINGS has always been a central concern for humanity; the origin of the stones, the animals, the plants, the planets, the stars and we ourselves. Yet the most fundamental origin of them all would seem to be the origin of the universe as a whole – of everything that exists, without which there could be none of the creatures and things mentioned above, including ourselves. Perhaps that is why the existence of the universe, its origin and nature, has been a subject of explanation in almost all civilizations and cultures. In fact, every culture known to anthropology has had a cosmogony – a history of how the world began and continues, of how mankind was created and of what the gods expect of us. The understanding these civilizations had of the universe is very different to what science teaches us today. However, the absence of a cosmology in these societies, of some explanation for the world in which we live, would be just as unthinkable as the absence of language itself. These explanations, for want of other frameworks from which to approach the subject, always had religious, mythological or philosophical foundations. Only recently has science been able to give its version of the facts, chiefly because science is recent itself. In terms of experimental scientific method, Galileo Galilei (1564-1642, Italian astronomer, physicist and mathematician) is something of a milestone, though the Greeks had already developed sophisticated geometrical methods for measuring the orbits and sizes of celestial bodies and for predicting astronomical events. Nor can we forget that the Egyptians and Chinese, like the Incas, Mayas and Aztecs, also knew how to read the movements of the stars. It is surprising how we can understand the physical universe in a rational manner and that it can be researched through the methods of physics and astronomy developed in our laboratories and observatories. The perception of this scientific dimension and capacity was revealed to us most clearly in the first, second and third decades of the 20th Century.

Arrest is one of the oldest techniques used by jurisdictions across the globe to secure peace, uphold law and order and ensure internal security of their citizens. The mere thought of arrest or curtailment of one’s sacrosanct liberty and freedom is more than enough to send shivers down the spine of not only a common man but also a seasoned and habitual criminal. The fear of arrest arises not only out of the consequences of curtailment of freedom and liberty but also the apprehension of infliction of injuries to one’s body by the police and the risk of being subjected to cruel, torturous, and inhuman treatment inside the prison. I can completely relate to that feeling when you pick up a book, flip on to its very first pages and find that, yet again, it has been dedicated to someone else and not to YOU! This book is for the reader, you, and only you – to learn, grow and develop your understanding of law. I also owe immense gratitude to Dr. Subramanian Swamy (Ex – M.P), Sr. Adv. O.P Sharma (Ex – Vice Chairman, Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana), Adv. Gaurav Sharma and Dr. Niteesh Kumar Upadhyay for their unparalleled support and guidance. I will also be forever indebted to all the Learned Advocates, Professors and Judicial Officers for teaching me the letters of law from scratch and mentoring me at every possible step. Last but not the least, I would like to extend my gratitude to everyone with whom I discussed the idea of this book and got exposed to numerous new dimensions of this topic.

The brain is the most complex organ in the human body. It produces our every thought, action, memory, feeling and experience of the world. This jelly-like mass of tissue, weighing in at around 1.4 kilograms, contains a staggering one hundred billion nerve cells, or neurons. To be in nutshell, it thinks, feels, imagines, emotes, remember, argue, propose, theorize and for that matter everything that related to one’s existence. Without brain body is nothing but animalist, a super mammal. The complexity of the connectivity between these cells is mind-boggling. Each neuron can make contact with thousands or even tens of thousands of others, via tiny structures called synapses. Our brains form a million new connections for every second of our lives. The pattern and strength of the connections is constantly changing and no two brains are alike.
Parents play a multifaceted role in shaping their children's lives, specifically focusing on the tension between fostering independence and recognizing individual potential. While parents are undoubtedly crucial figures in a child's development, acting as primary educators and guides, their influence can sometimes inadvertently neglect the child's unique needs and aspirations. This potential conflict arises within the social context. Parents, often drawing upon societal expectations and their own experiences, navigate a path toward independence for their children. While providing a foundation, this established structure may only partially account for the diverse spectrum of individual strengths and weaknesses, exemplified by frameworks like Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences. Furthermore, the current parenting model prioritizes independence over fostering a long-term, supportive relationship with the child. This oversimplification overlooks the complexity of healthy parent-child relationships, which can encompass individual autonomy and a strong sense of connection. It is important to acknowledge that the limitations of traditional parenting approaches are not solely the result of individual shortcomings. Unlike most professions, parenting lacks formal instruction, relying largely on on-the-job learning and adapting to diverse situations. This reality necessitates further exploration of alternative approaches and support systems that can empower parents to navigate this complex and crucial role while recognizing each child's unique potential. It is critical to understand and emphasise the undeniable importance of parents in their children's lives while urging a critical examination of current practices. By recognizing the potential tension between established structures and individual needs, we can foster a dialogue that leads to a more nuanced and effective approach to raising future generations. While parents undoubtedly guide us from dependence to independence, equipping us for life's journey, this traditional approach often overlooks the unique spark within each child. This book challenges that notion. "Leadership Parenting" champions a new perspective. Here, we move beyond simply providing for our children's needs. We explore how to nurture their strengths, aspirations, and intellectual, emotional, and social potential. Forget the "one-size-fits-all" model. This is a call to action to embrace the constant learning inherent in parenting. You'll discover tools and strategies to navigate the complexities of modern parenthood, fostering independence and a supportive, long-term relationship with your child.

Until she locks eyes with Shekhar, the married man next door. But here's the twist: there are no villains in this story. No neglectful partners. No loveless marriages. As Paakhi and Shekhar's passionate affair unfolds through verse, readers will find themselves asking: Can you truly love two people at once? And when it's all over, what happens to the girl left picking up the pieces of her former self? 'The Boy Next Door' challenges everything you thought you knew about love, fidelity, and the human heart. It's a poetic journey that will leave you questioning your own boundaries and the true nature of desire. Dare to peek through the curtains at the house next door.
