Era difficile, se non impossibile, per esempio, accedere alla fecondazione assistita o adottare un bambino, tanto che alcuni medici, ciechi e incapaci di pensare ad altro che alla diagnosi di sclerosi, le si rivolgevano dicendole di pensare piuttosto alla malattia, alla urgenza di combattere per non perdere terreno contro il Male. Così lei ha cercato, con l’energia positiva e l’entusiasmo contagioso che la contraddistinguono, altri modi per considerarsi mamma. Attraverso la realizzazione artistica, l’amore per chi le sta più vicino, il contatto prezioso e unico con Grisù, il suo inseparabile “bambino peloso”. Partendo da “una ferita ancora aperta”, dalla necessità di venire a patti con il dolore, Antonella Ferrari ha deciso di mettersi a nudo e raccontarsi senza far mancare mai l’ironia e la leggerezza. Comunque mamma è la storia di un sogno negato, ingiustamente, a lei e molte donne, ma al tempo stesso è la storia di una donna che sta cercando di imparare a vivere bene anche senza essere madre di un essere umano, che sta provando a inseguire vie alternative, e belle, alla maternità, senza arrendersi, così da rendere la sua vita piena… nonostante tutto.
