Grammar is the core structure of a language. It is composed of rules that govern how words can be put together to form sentences. The purpose of grammar is to allow writers to convey specific meanings to their readers. Knowledge of English grammar helps students to acquire skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Without knowledge of grammar, students cannot speak or write English correctly.
Unlike people born in Panjab who have a direct connection with, and hence a memory of the land, I have no liminal or tangible marker of belonging to Panjab. While my family did hail from Panjab, I was neither born here, nor do I live here. I have no address, bank statement, Aadhaar card, passport or land ownership to prove my connection with Panjab. In 2015, Amandeep Sandhu began an investigation that was meant to resolve the 'hole in his heart', his 'emptiness about matters Panjab'. For three years, he crisscrossed the state and discovered a land that was nothing like the one he had imagined and not like the stories he had heard. Present-day Panjab prides itself on legends of its military and valorous past even as it struggles with daily horrors. The Green Revolution has wreaked ecological havoc in the state, and a decade and a half of militancy has destabilised its economy and governance. Sikhism-the state's eclectic and syncretic religion- is in crisis, its gatekeepers brooking no dissent and giving little spiritual guidance. And Panjab has yet to recover from the loss of its other half, now in Pakistan. This revised edition includes a chapter on the 2020-21 farmers' struggle which proved beyond doubt that the old spirit of the land with its undercurrent of resistance to power and hegemony still beats away. The hope that Panjab's unyielding knots can be untied continues to linger.
Master's Thesis from the year 2018 in the subject Agrarian Studies, grade: 8.5, , course: Agronomy, language: English, abstract: The aim of this study is to study the effect of integrated nutrient management on the growth and yield of kharif Maize and to work out the economics of different nutrient management treatments. As the chemical’s fertilizers play an important role in plants life so that these chemicals should not be avoided completely as they are the potential sources of the high amount of nutrients in easily available forms. These fertilizers greatly affect enzymatic activities in the soil profile but poor management of the chemical fertilizers has a key role in lowering the yield productivity and deteriorate the soil health also. So, to achieve optimum crop production, there is a need to use the combination of organic sources, inorganic sources, bio-fertilizers. Maize (Zea mays L.) requires the nutrients i.e., macronutrients as well as micronutrients for obtaining the higher crop growth and yield. The micronutrients content in organic manure may be sufficient to meet the crop requirement but the low soil fertility is the major problem to maintain sustainability in production. The application of organic manure do not produce optimum yield due to low nutrient status but they play a direct role in plant growth by the mineralization they provide the essential nutrients which furthermore improves the physical and biological properties of the soil. The use of organic plays an important role in maintaining soil health due to the build-up of soil organic matter, beneficial microbes. “Biofertilizer” is a substance that contains living organisms. It promotes growth by increasing the supply or availability of primary nutrients to the host plant. These are not fertilizers because fertilizers directly increase soil fertility by adding nutrients. They add nutrients through the natural processes of fixing atmospheric nitrogen, solubilizing phosphorus, and stimulating plant growth through the synthesis of growth promoting substances. Azotobacter is dominant among the free-living forms of nitrogen fixers. It has been used extensively as a production technology in many countries and there were 20-29 percent increase in yield. Hence, the judicious application of these combinations can sustain soil fertility and productivity. In general, scheduling of fertilizers is based on the individual nutrient requirement of the crop and the carry-over effect of manure and fertilizer applied to precede crop is ignored.

To find, make, and study drugs for medical use, pharmaceutical chemistry is a mixed science that brings together parts of chemistry, biology, and pharmacology. Pharmaceutical chemistry is important to understand if you want to make medicines that work and are safe, make sure they are of good quality, and study how they work. This book is a complete guide to pharmaceutical chemistry. It covers a lot of important topics that pharmacy students and workers need to know about. The information is arranged in a way that makes it easy for readers to understand basic ideas and get into the details of different medicine systems. The book starts with an overview of pharmaceutical chemistry, talking about what it is, what it aims to do, and how important accuracy, precision, and significant figures are in pharmaceutical numbers. Then, it talks about where impurities in pharmacopoeial chemicals come from and what they do, stressing how important it is to do limit tests for different impurities. The next chapters go into more detail about volumetric and gravimetric analysis methods, which are very important in quality control and pharmaceutical analysis. The book then talks about inorganic drugs, including how they are made, how they are sold, how they should be stored, and what they are used for. It focuses on hematinics, gastric agents, cosmetic agents, oral goods, and medical gases. The book also talks about how to name organic chemistry systems, focusing on molecules that are heterocyclic and have up to three rings. Then, it talks about different types of medical substances, such as those that work on the cardiovascular system, the autonomic nervous system, the central nervous system, and painkillers, anti-infectives, hypoglycemics, and diuretics. The book goes into great detail about how to classify chemicals, their names, their structures, and their uses, how stable they are, how to store them, how they are made, and what well-known brands they belong to.
Whenever we say ‘friendship,’ some people come to mind. This is also a story of a group of three friends who must have come into each other’s mind while saying the word. What is the reality of Raj? What is really going on between Shazia and Alex? What is Zakir’s cowardly mission? Start from the beginning and find out all the answers in this fictituous tale, which is like an emotional roller coaster. The author hopes that the ending will leave you with a smile on your face and maybe, if his crush reads this book, she might be impressed.
This book describes the four Nuclear Security Summits held over 2010-2016 at the initiative of U.S. President Barack Obama. The author draws upon his unique vantage point as a participant in the Summits, exclusive interviews with practitioners, and access to primary documents, to write an engaging history of the NSS and of nuclear security in general. The story of the NSS is also in part the story of multilateral nuclear forums, which have sprung up regularly since the dawn of the nuclear age to address perceived nuclear dangers. The success of these Summits in addressing the threat of nuclear terrorism holds important lessons for the design and work of nuclear forums today and into the future. The author presents a new approach to assessing ‘international learning’ that has important implications for the design of multilateral forums and updates the Cold War areas of nuclear knowledge being ‘learnt’ in the light of the NSS experience and other recent developments. This work will be of interest to scholars and practitioners in security studies, nuclear history, and International Relations.
Bachelor Thesis from the year 2013 in the subject Biology - Miscellaneous, grade: M.Sc., , course: Biotechnology, language: English, abstract: Research and analysis of nanoparticles (NPs) synthesis and their biological activities has been expanded significantly in the recent years. The agents used for nanoparticles (NPs) synthesis are of organic (mainly carbon) and inorganic (metal ions like silver and gold) origin (Singh et al., 2010). Among these, silver (Ag) is the most preferred NPs synthesis agent due to its reported use in medical field as best topical bactericides from ancient times (Lavanya et al., 2013). The stable silver nanoparticles had been synthesized by using soluble starch as both the reducing and stabilizing agents (Shrivastava et al., 2012). So the concern of scientific community shifted towards ecofriendly, natural and cheaper method of NPs synthesis by using microorganisms and plant extracts (Mohanpuria et al., 2008). The use of plant materials for silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) is most popular due to its potential biological activities, easy availability and faster rate of synthesis there by cutting the cost of NP's synthesis (Huang et al., 2007 and Salam et al., 2012). The nanoparticles had been clinically used for infection, vaccines and renal diseases (Malhotra et al., 2010). The plant extract of petals of herbal species like Punica granatum, Datura metel (Chandran et al., 2011) and stem extracts of Svensonia hyderobadensis (Linga et al., 2011) had been effectively used for AgNPs synthesis and investigated for their antimicrobial activities. Nanoparticles could be synthesized by various approaches like photochemical reactions in reverse micelles (Taleb et al., 1997), thermal decomposition (Esumi et al., 1990), sonochemical (Zhu et al., 2000) and microwave assisted process (Santosh et al., 2002 and Prasher et al., 2009). Nanocrystalline silver particles have found tremendous applications in the field of high sensitivity biomolecular detection and diagnostics (Schultz et al., 2000), antimicrobials and therapeutics (Rai and Yadav., 2009 and Elechiguerra et al., 2005) and micro-electronics (Gittins et al., 2000). Acacia auriculiformis A. Cunn. is an exotic species that can survive in degraded lands in Thai savanna (Badejo et al., 1998). Besides its high adaptability in degraded savanna areas, A. auriculiformis is known for its nitrogen fixation property (Sprent and Parsons, 2000) enriching macrofaunal composition (Mboukou-Kimbatsa et al., 1998), low allelopathic effects (Bernhard-Reversat et al., 1999) and ability to pump nutrients from the subsoil (Kang et al., 1993).
This thesis advances the long-standing challenge of measuring oxidative stress and deciphering its underlying mechanisms, and also outlines the advantages and limitations of existing design strategies. It presents a range of approaches for the chemical synthesis of fluorescent probes that detect reversible changes in cellular oxidative stress. The ability to visualise cellular processes in real-time is crucial to understanding disease development and streamline treatment, and this can be achieved using fluorescent tools that can sense reversible disturbances in cellular environments during pathogenesis. The perturbations in cellular redox state are of particular current interest in medical research, since oxidative stress is implicated in the pathogenesis of a number of diseases. The book investigates different strategies used to achieve ratiometric fluorescence output of the reversible redox probes, which nullify concentration effects associated with intensity-based probes. It also describes suitable approaches to target these probes to specific cellular organelles, thereby enabling medical researchers to visualise sub-cellular oxidative stress levels, and addressing the typically poor uptake of chemical tools into biological studies. In total it reports on four new probes that are now being used by over twenty research groups around the globe, and two of which have been commercialised. The final chapters of this thesis demonstrate successful applications of the sensors in a variety of biological systems ranging from prokaryotes to mammalian cells and whole organisms. The results described clearly indicate the immense value of collaborative, cross-disciplinary research.
The research data is based on findings from many fields like neuroscience, genetics and psychology; filtered through the lens of education, for exploring new challenges in Education and finding ways to solve various educational problems, may it be learning disabilities, motivational problems, memory, development of thinking, or similar sort of teaching-learning problems. This book provides an accurate evaluation of re-integration of Eurasia in the context of India’s energy security and diplomacy which requires a normative shift as in the current Eurasian geopolitical and geo-economic matrix, the growing role of transit countries and their proximity with the Energy Complex Zone negates the fact that great powers or strong states control the Eurasian Heartland. Authors believe that wrecking this norm is fundamental here to deconstruct the undercurrents of energy geopolitics prevailing in Eurasia over the emerging phenomenon, as it discourages the re-integration of the Eurasian region. It explores how the geopolitical struggle between major powers for energy resources has been engendering mutual interdependencies between energy producers and transit countries. It makes an attempt to provide a transcontinental study of Eurasian energy and connectivity as a thrust area for the present work positioning Eurasia in Indian foreign policy, determining the contours of energy diplomacy in connection with the Eurasian energy policy. It defines Eurasia broadly as the region that encompasses Central Asia and the Caucasus including Russia and transit countries. It addresses the geopolitical and geo-economic aspects of Eurasian re-integration in the context of India’s energy security. The objective of this book is to combine theoretical, contemporary, and policy-oriented issues that deserve scholarly attention and would both complement and supplement the academic contributions.
