In this moment of so many disagreements with affection, of nature being treated as an object of abject beings, is that we present our second edition of Indigenous Decolonialism." Here is a part of the presentation to the second edition prepared by Alvaro de Azevedo Gonzaga, Professor of Law with indigenous Guarani Kaiowá ancestry, who defends Human Rights, in this book that is the result of his post-doctorate study in Indigenous History. The book is divided into 8 myths that were constructed by the colonizers and need to be unmasked or decolonized, through a struggle. With a careful, but soft language, the author intends to bring the readers closer to this theme that deserves extreme attention, after all, Brazilian History goes back much further than the year 1500. Myth 1: Correcting nomenclatures: Why "originary peoples" or "indigenous peoples"? Myth 2: The bow and arrow! Myth 3: Indigenous people don’t like to work and are lazy, cannibalistic, violent and kill children! Myth 4: Indigenous people own a lot of lands! Myth 5: Indigenous people are disappearing in Brazil! Myth 6: Oh, how I miss the militaries! Figueiredo Report: Ethnocides and Normaticides. Myth 7: The first Brazilians in history are the Indigenous. Myth 8 or 1st struggle? For an Indigenous Decolonialism. Between the first and second edition, the author issued an opinion on the genocide against indigenous peoples for the Parliamentary Inquiry Commission (CPI) on COVID held in the Brazilian Senate, and has participated in numerous events on the indigenous issue that deserves to be defended on a daily basis.
