This is the first attempt of a systematic study of real Enriques surfaces culminating in their classification up to deformation. Simple explicit topological invariants are elaborated for identifying the deformation classes of real Enriques surfaces. Some of theses are new and can be applied to other classes of surfaces or higher-dimensional varieties. Intended for researchers and graduate students in real algebraic geometry it may also interest others who want to become familiar with the field and its techniques. The study relies on topology of involutions, arithmetics of integral quadratic forms, algebraic geometry of surfaces, and the hyperkähler structure of K3-surfaces. A comprehensive summary of the necessary results and techniques from each of these fields is included. Some results are developed further, e.g., a detailed study of lattices with a pair of commuting involutions and a certain class of rational complex surfaces.
This monograph summarizes and extends a number of results on the topology of trigonal curves in geometrically ruled surfaces. An emphasis is given to various applications of the theory to a few related areas, most notably singular plane curves of small degree, elliptic surfaces, and Lefschetz fibrations (both complex and real), and Hurwitz equivalence of braid monodromy factorizations. The approach relies on a close relation between trigonal curves/elliptic surfaces, a certain class of ribbon graphs, and subgroups of the modular group, which provides a combinatorial framework for the study of geometric objects. A brief summary of the necessary auxiliary results and techniques used and a background of the principal problems dealt with are included in the text. The book is intended to researchers and graduate students in the field of topology of complex and real algebraic varieties.

The monograph is concerned with the modulus of families of curves on Riemann surfaces and its applications to extremal problems for conformal, quasiconformal mappings, and the extension of the modulus onto Teichmller spaces. The main part of the monograph deals with extremal problems for compact classes of univalent conformal and quasiconformal mappings. Many of them are grouped around two-point distortion theorems. Montel's functions and functions with fixed angular derivatives are also considered. The last portion of problems is directed to the extension of the modulus varying the complex structure of the underlying Riemann surface that sheds some new light on the metric problems of Teichmller spaces.
