The key purpose of this work is to examine the interrelationship between the field of text linguistics and translation with specific reference to computer translation. The question arises whether machine translation can ever be a practicable and reliable substitute for human translators. Based on this premise, this study assesses the effectiveness of machine translation software in its ability to translate the nuances of text linguistics from a source language to a target language. Following a literature review of text linguistics covering a number of textual analysis models and translation studies including machine translation, the primary research utilises a qualitative research methodology by means of text-based assessment. Three text samples are drawn from each of the following six text linguistic categories: register, pragmatics, semiotics, text type, genre and discourse. Using three leading Arabic translation software programmes the text samples are subjected to a comparative evaluation.

At TSU , he developed his poetry and songwriting skills, and was a member of the Natural Experience singing group, where he played percussion. He also co-founded the Poets and Songwriters Association of TSU, which is still a charter organization on campus. Al Hajji also was a member of the Total Experience Record Company, where he signed and artist and songwriting contract. There he befriended the Gap Band, Yarborough & Peoples, Goodie, Val Young, Lonnie Simmons and Don Alexander the owners. Over the years he has been active in the music industry, giving workshop on writing and the business end of music. Singing at weddings and receptions and work with Alicia 4bia Cherry as a personal manager, where he became friends With the late Lisa Left Eye Lopes ( N.I.N.A. ) Raina ( Raindrop) Lopes, Kisha Spivey of the group Total and the girl group Egypt. This volume presents the proceedings of the workshop "Harmonic Functions on Graphs" held at the Graduate Centre of CUNY in the autumn of 1995. The main papers present material from four minicourses given by leading experts: D. Cartwright, A. Figà-Talamanca, S. Sawyer, and T. Steger. These minicrouses are introductions which gradually progress to deeper and less known branches of the subject. One of the topics treated is buildings, which are discrete analogues of symmetric spaces of arbitrary rank; buildings of rank are trees. Harmonic analysis on buildings is a fairly new and important field of research. One of the minicourses discusses buildings from the combinatorial perspective and another examines them from the p-adic perspective. the third minicourse deals with the connections of trees with p-adic analysis, and the fourth deals with random walks, ie., with the probabilistic side of harmonic functions on trees. The book also contains the extended abstracts of 19 of the 20 lectures given by the participants on their recent results. The couple wants to wait until Gideon completes the overseas project. Humorous mother and daughter bantering provides a waggish aspect to the tale that leaves the reader wondering what will come in the next book in this sequel, Longears.
