You know MAD. Do you know Humbug? Harvey Kurtzman changed the face of American humor when he created the legendary MAD comic. As editor and chief writer from its inception in 1952, through its transformation into a slick magazine, and until he left MAD in 1956, he influenced an entire generation of cartoonists, comedians, and filmmakers. In 1962, he co-created the long-running Little Annie Fanny with his long-time artistic partner Will Elder forPlayboy, which he continued to produce until his virtual retirement in 1988. Between MAD and Annie Fanny, Kurtzman’s biographical summaries will note that he created and edited three other magazines―Trump, Humbug, and Help!―but, whereas his MAD and Annie Fanny are readily available in reprint form, his major satirical work in the interim period is virtually unknown. Humbug, which had poor distribution, may be the least known, but to those who treasure the rare original copies, it equals or even exceeds MAD in displaying Kurtzman’s creative genius. The book argues that the UAE leadership encouraged a new national identity to evolve amid the pressures of modernity, particularly at a time when young Emiratis had access to information beyond government control via social media. This book (A Pimp and a Hustler) is a direct picture of the life I have lived thus far. It shows all of my good, bad, and hard times. It began in West Point Georgia and journeyed to Chicago where, at eight years old, I began to see a whole new view of the world. In this book, I included my experience of having sex at an early age of twelve. I witnessed drug users, pimps, hustlers, and con artist; and through it all, I learned life for what it is, "What is life?" "Life is a school of good and bad breaks, where lessons hard learned reaches the human soul and leaves an imprint, and that imprint is an experience!" I have rubbed shoulders with alderman, congressmen, judges, and the topnotch gangsters of Chicago. Most of them were head gang lords in the late sixties, I have lived through several narrow excapes with my life.

It states that instead of seeing Taiwan as a security liability, the US should use it as a compatible point of contact to East Asia, and China should view the US-Taiwan relationship as an opportunity rather than as an intervention. Rather than focusing only on American policy options, the book treats the most important triangular interaction in Asia from the standpoint of each of its participants, by an expert from each country. The book also includes brief discussions by experts from Japan and Macau considering the general salience of the new paradigm for Asia. For readers' easy reference, it also includes a triangular chronology as well as a selection of major documents relating to the triangle.
