The key purpose of this work is to examine the interrelationship between the field of text linguistics and translation with specific reference to computer translation. The question arises whether machine translation can ever be a practicable and reliable substitute for human translators. Based on this premise, this study assesses the effectiveness of machine translation software in its ability to translate the nuances of text linguistics from a source language to a target language. Following a literature review of text linguistics covering a number of textual analysis models and translation studies including machine translation, the primary research utilises a qualitative research methodology by means of text-based assessment. Three text samples are drawn from each of the following six text linguistic categories: register, pragmatics, semiotics, text type, genre and discourse. Using three leading Arabic translation software programmes the text samples are subjected to a comparative evaluation.

Named by the Abenaki Indians, Winooski, which means "land of the wild onion," has enjoyed a long history. Ira and Ethan Allen and their uncle Remember Baker first settled in the area in 1772. Since that settlement, Winooski has hosted various mills and factories, several churches, many stores, and an active community. The Vermont Legislature approved a change of charter in 1921, and the citizens of Winooski voted in favor of incorporating the City of Winooski at their annual meeting in March 1922. The city's mills provided economic support until 1954, when the American Woolen Mill closed. Community Development Block Grants, Urban Development Action Grants, and other investments helped to revitalize Winooski throughout the 1980s, creating new job opportunities and updating the city's buildings and infrastructure. Now, as a designated Refugee Resettlement community, Winooski welcomes refugees from around the world, accommodating various languages and cultural needs. From the blockhouse constructed by the first settlers to the Winooski Block, the vibrant river city remains home to residents who have helped shape the history of Vermont.

Stories are told with a backdrop of significant historical events such as the Great Depression, World War II, the Southern Labor Movement, the Civil Rights Movement, and the advent of the rock and roll revolution in music—all of which led to a transformation of values. Price promotes racial harmony as well as understanding the conflicts, contradictions, and joys of living in the South. Rich in literary quotations and cultural allusions, the reader will recall memories from his or her own life. Here, in this world of sunshine and toil, these common people, both black and white, endured, survived, and prevailed. It was also here that some white citizens made one last bloody, fatal gasp to preserve the cultural curse of Jim Crow. African Americans left a legacy of fighting for their country both overseas and at home. This is a book that can change a reader, and it is certainly a book the reader will remember.

The book suggests that although particular Islamic texts, teachings, and discourses might influence radical behaviors and practices of some Muslim individuals and groupings, terrorism is beyond ideological, religious, and doctrinal issues. Therefore, multiple methods and strategies are needed to combat radicalism and create sustainable peace in society. The book addresses the gaps in the body of knowledge from two grounds. Firstly, it adds value through explaining the dynamics of natural resource governance by focusing on the particular arenas of biodiversity resources, water resources and climate change in developing country context. Secondly, it critically scrutinizes the market-centric perspectives on one hand and combines political economy questions that are generally overlooked in discussions of current resource governance framework, on the other. This book provides a summary of the papers presented during the 2nd conference of the Society of Catholic Social Scientists, Ghana Chapter (SCSS-GC) on the theme technology and rural development (TRD), that was held at the SMA regional house (Oshuiman), Accra, Ghana on 28th and 29th of September, 2018. A total of seven papers were presented together with keynote address after going through a blind review process with highly skilled professors in the designated areas. Dr. Sabina A. Mensah presented on issues of gender consideration in energy efficiency that were proved to significantly influence economic growth. Some investments were recommended to non-conventional energy services used by majority of rural women. Rev. Dr. Eric O. Wiafe stressed on the importance of technology to rural development and, more importantly, pointed out the role that the church can play in fostering the use of technology for rapid transformation. Dr. Louis D. Atsiatorme proposed the use of African philosophical thoughts in sustainable environmental education in Ghana and posited that sustainable environmental education should be based on African philosophical thought. Mr. Fabrice Fifonsi analysed the role of parliamentarians and local government in the rural development with the utilisation of technology in a systemic approach considering their representative mandate, coupled with their legislative and oversight functions. Rev. Dr. John K. Louis developed a Christian theological work on how to mitigate environmental degradation. His work takes source from the Laudato si of Pope Francis who rightly states that the Eucharist is a source of light and motivation for our concerns for the environment, directing us to be stewards of all creation. Finally, Prof. Amevi Acakpovi et al. presented two papers dealing respectively with energy conservation and efficiency and the adoption of electronic government in tertiary educations.
