This book provides a clear and comprehensive introduction to the past, present, and future direction of death rituals and deathcare systems within Japan. As Japan heads toward a precarious future shaped by its super-ageing society, secularisation, and economic stagnation, the socioreligious structures that once organised death and funeral practice are becoming increasingly unstable. In their place, new social structures, technologies, and rituals for the farewell of the dead, handling of cremains, and commemoration of the ancestors have begun to emerge. The work is informed by the authors’ extensive research within Japan’s funeral, cemetery, and memorialisation sectors and the latest Japanese data sources and academic publications, many of which are not currently available in English. Providing readily accessible and contextualising information, this book will be an essential reference for graduate students and academics, as well as international policymakers and deathcare practitioners.

Materials and Water Chemistry for Supercritical Water-cooled Reactors is unique in that it brings together materials and water chemistry, their interrelationship, the historical perspective and their application to SCWR conceptual design. Written by world's leading experts, all active in the area of materials and chemistry R&D in support of GEN IV SCWR, this book presents for the first time a comprehensive reference on these topics, and in particular, how these data relate to the SCWR design itself. This book is an essential text for researchers in the areas of supercritical water-cooled reactor materials and chemistry, working in industry or academia. It will also give newcomers to the field a survey of all of the available literature and a clear understanding of how these studies relate to the design of the SCWR concept. The material presented is at a specialist's level in materials or corrosion science, or in water chemistry of power plants. - Provides comprehensive coverage of the chemistry and materials of SCWR - Presents the latest research and results condensed into one book - Covers the differences in use of SCW in nuclear reactors and fossil plants, and the resulting differences in materials requirements
From Aki Irie the creator of 'Ran and the Gray World". When Kei was down with a cold, physically and mentally tired from searching for his missing brother, it was his friend - Lilja - who took care of him. This book focuses on multiple comparisons of proportions in multi-sample models with Bernoulli responses. First, the author explains the one-sample and two-sample methods that form the basis of multiple comparisons. Then, regularity conditions are stated in detail. Simultaneous inference for all proportions based on exact confidence limits and based on asymptotic theory is discussed. Closed testing procedures based on some one-sample statistics are introduced. For all-pairwise multiple comparisons of proportions, the author uses arcsine square root transformation of sample means. Closed testing procedures based on maximum absolute values of some two-sample test statistics and based on chi-square test statistics are introduced. It is shown that the multi-step procedures are more powerful than single-step procedures and the Ryan–Einot–Gabriel–Welsch (REGW)-type tests. Furthermore, the author discusses multiple comparisons with a control. Under simple ordered restrictions of proportions, the author also discusses closed testing procedures based on maximum values of two-sample test statistics and based on Bartholomew's statistics. Last, serial gatekeeping procedures based on the above-mentioned closed testing procedures are proposed although Bonferroni inequalities are used in serial gatekeeping procedures of many.
Kei’s finally used to being around guys, and she no longer loses her lunch when interacting with them. This has led to her and Kousuke becoming closer friends.
