Molecular farming is a biotechnological approach that includes the genetic adjustment of agricultural products to create proteins and chemicals for profitable and pharmaceutical purposes. Plant molecular farming describes the manufacture of recombinant proteins and other biologically active product in plants. This approach depends on a genetic transformation of plants that can be accomplished by the methods of stable gene transfer, such as gene transfer to nuclei and chloroplasts, and unstable transfer methods like viral vectors. The requirement for recombinant proteins in terms of quality, quantity, and diversity is increasing exponentially This demand is traditionally met by recombinant protein construction technologies and the engineering of orthodox expression systems based on bacteria or mammalian cell cultures. However, majority of developing countries cannot afford the high costs of medicine derived from such existing methods. Hence, we need to produce not only the new drugs but also the cheaper versions of those already present in the market. Plant molecular farming is considered as a cost-effective technology that has grown and advanced tremendously over the past two decades. This book summarizes the advances and challenges of plant molecular farming for all those who are working on or have an interest in this rapidly emerging area of research.

On the banks of Tigris and Euphrates rivers famous ancient civilisations flourished. In this area, modern Iraq was created by Britain but was virtually kept in a land-locked position. Successive Iraqi rulers have staked their claims on Kuwaiti territory to be able to be free from Iranian hegemony. Soon after the 1958 revolution Qassem claimed Kuwait which led to Baghdad's isolation but was partly repaired by the Arif brothers. The Baathist regime, since 1968, revived Iraqi claims over Kuwait. The author examines the reasons why Kuwaiti rulers were so determined in rejecting Iraqi demands. The Iranian revolution and the eight year war brought Saddam Hussein none of the gains he was expecting. The author believes that just as there is a direct link between the Iranian Revolution and the Iran-Iraq war, the 1990-91 Kuwaiti crisis would not have erupted but for the same. Soon the UN sanctions began to slowly strangle Iraq. The author reasons that Saddam Hussein and his regime survived since 1991 due to his resourcefulness and his capacity for survival. Although many states began to normalise ties with Iraq, the US was determined to bring down Saddam Hussein and his Baathist regime mainly to control the Iraqi oil. By 2003, the UN sanctions had reduced Iraq from a booming nation to a shadow of its former self. These and many other crucial issues are presented in an impassioned and penetrating analysis. This book has both historical relevance and contemporary significance.

This research aims to find out the impact of job stress on the counter-productive work behavior (CWB) of employees. Job stress is an important aspect and become a major challenge for the organizations because this job stress became the cause of employee negative behavior. This research is a causal and a cross sectional one. A sample of 352 employees from the banking sector of Pakistan was used for analysis. Job stress has been measured through different factors and their effect on employee CWB is examined and the study results revealed that the job stress among employees lead them somewhat toward counter-productive work behavior and there is a sufficient positive correlation exist between job stress employee CWB. These results are also consistent with the previous researches that job stress lead the employees towards CWB. This study reinforces the importance of employees work behavior which is essential for firms to be successful in the current era.

Under the widespread concept of integrated pest management, use of semiochemicals have been extensively studied to control agricultural pest insects. In this regard, aphrodisiac pheromones of two most destructive pest species of Pieris have been investigated. Individual pheromone constituents produced in the wings of two Asian populations were compared with two European populations of P. rapae. The total pheromone levels in the European populations were lower than the amounts present in wings of Asian populations. As a result of this study, we can conclude that both the subspecies of P. rapae showed a clear variation in pheromone profile between them. On the other hand, within subspecies, the different populations did not show very large differences. Therefore, the populations with geographical difference could not be considered identical as they showed significant quantitative differences in pheromone profiles. Furthermore, Electroantennographic analysis was also carried out to find out specific pheromone lures, which could be used for both the subspecies to carried out field bioassays in future, to test the mating disruption strategy.

While it is true that no one, including various levels of management and workers, want conflict, loss of time due to breakdowns, poor quality and accidents, these continue to occur. Top Management sometimes takes some initiatives like inviting consultants or getting people trained in specified areas. However, by and large the situation remains the same. The reason, therefore, is not lack of desire to do well. The fundamental malice is in the system of management. It is this aspect that this book tries to address while also discussing some basic principles of maintenance. It focuses on need and measures for enhancing effectiveness of the organization by evolving and implementing fundamental changes in managerial philosophy and practices. Choice of the title of the book is very deliberate. The whole approach discussed in the book is directed towards building a system and climate that would enable ensuring most effective operation and maintenance of capital equipment while also developing a collaborative and co-ordinated functioning of various wings and levels in the organization. Far too often, people concerned want and try to achieve results like no breakdowns, no rejects and no accidents quickly. This book attempts to convey to them that quick fixes and quick results are not possible and that concentrated and committed effort is required over a long period of time to create conditions and environment for results. It is in this context that while the book discusses various approaches to maintenance and describes some elementary techniques for planning, it lays emphasis on the need for a change in management thinking and on involvement of all from top to the lowest for achieving desired results.
