Author Mark Smith is a retired professor who taught at Cornwall College in Jamaica and an international school in Switzerland. He taught English in Western Canada for twenty-eight years, during which time he also participated in teaching exchanges to Australia, the United States, and back to Switzerland. Bored with retirement, he and his wife worked in Shanghai, South Korea and Beijing. They now live in Canada where they spend their time fishing, playing tennis, reading, and of course, traveling.
