The reader is now able to read not only the meaning, the transliteration and the tafsir (explanation) of the Glorious Qur'an but also the full Arabic text as well. Our mission is to gather in one place, for the English-speaking public, all relevant information needed to make the Qur'an more understandable and easier to study. This book tries to do this by providing the following: 1. The Arabic Text for those who are able to read Arabic 2. Transliteration of the Arabic text for those who are unable to read the Arabic script. This will give them a sample of the sound of the Qur'an, which they could not otherwise comprehend from reading the English meaning. 3. Explanation (abridged Tafsir) by Ibn Kathir (translated by Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarakpuri) We hope that by doing this an ordinary English-speaker will be able to pick up a copy of this book and study and comprehend The Glorious Qur'an in a way that is acceptable to the understanding of the Rightly-guided Muslim Ummah (Community).

This is the autobiography of Abdul Salam Zaeef, a senior former member of the Taliban. His memoirs, translated from Pashto, are more than just a personal account of his extraordinary life. My Life with the Taliban offers a counter-narrative to the standard accounts of Afghanistan since 1979. Zaeef describes growing up in rural poverty in Kandahar province. Both of his parents died at an early age, and the Russian invasion of 1979 forced him to flee to Pakistan. He started fighting the jihad in 1983, during which time he was associated with many major figures in the anti-Soviet resistance, including the current Taliban head Mullah Mohammad Omar. After the war Zaeef returned to a quiet life in a small village in Kandahar, but chaos soon overwhelmed Afghanistan as factional fighting erupted after the Russians pulled out. Disgusted by the lawlessness that ensued, Zaeef was one among the former mujahidin who were closely involved in the discussions that led to the emergence of the Taliban, in 1994. Zaeef then details his Taliban career as civil servant and minister who negotiated with foreign oil companies as well as with Afghanistan's own resistance leader, Ahmed Shah Massoud. Zaeef was ambassador to Pakistan at the time of the 9/11 attacks, and his account discusses the strange "phoney war" period before the US-led intervention toppled the Taliban. In early 2002 Zaeef was handed over to American forces in Pakistan, notwithstanding his diplomatic status, and spent four and a half years in prison (including several years in Guantanamo) before being released without having been tried or charged with any offence. My Life with the Taliban offers a personal and privileged insight into the rural Pashtun village communities that are the Taliban's bedrock. It helps to explain what drives men like Zaeef to take up arms against the foreigners who are foolish enough to invade his homeland.

The city remained under Islamic rule until World War 2, where it fell to British occupation and into Christian hands as Jerusalem.

This is the story of the legendary Muhammad Al Fateh, following him from his childhood and how he was raised by his father to become a Caliph of Islam, through to his appointment as the Caliph of the Ottoman Empire at the tender age of 19 and subsequent rule. Without Constantinople under its jurisdiction, the Ottoman Empire was incomplete. And so, Sultan Muhammad AlFateh set out to conquer it. Al Fateh was not the first person to attempt conquering Constantinople. Many warriors and caliphs of Islam before him had tried in vain. Learning from their past failures, AlFateh carefully assembled and equipped his army. Finally, after an epic battle, Constatinople was conquered. Al Fateh changed the name of the city to Istanbul. At his peak, Al Fateh was the ruler of 25 countries. In the end, he was poisoned and killed by his enemies. Yet, the Ottoman Empire and legacy he left behind stayed standing strong.

The goal of a high quality, cost-effective and accessible health care for patients is achieved through constructing a team-based and patient-centered health care delivery system. The expanded role of pharmacists uplifts them to patient care from dispensing and manufacturing or marketing of drugs. Along with doctors and allied health professionals, pharmacists are increasingly recognized as an integral part of the patient care team. Furthermore, colleges of pharmacy need to revise and up-date their curricula to accommodate the progressively increasing development in the pharmaceutical education and the evolving new roles of practicing pharmacists in patient care settings. This book focuses on the expanded role of the pharmacists in total patient care including prescribing, dispensing, compounding, administering and monitoring of drugs at home, hospital, community, hospice, critical care, changeover and other care settings. The sector is emerging in both developed and under-developed countries. Overburdened by patient loads and the explosion of new drugs physicians turned to pharmacists more and more for drug information especially within institutional settings. And today’s patient care pharmacists are taking more interests in medication review and reconciliation, patient education and counseling, creating drug therapy regimen and monitoring compliance. The purpose of this book is to guide the pharmacists in their daily interactions with patients and to ensure collaboration with other health professionals. The contents are mostly based on recently published articles related to patient care, with most recent ideas and activities followed by the patient care pharmacists around the globe. However, a pharmacist implements the care plan in collaboration with other health care professionals and the patient or caregiver. Along with professional guidelines, the book discusses the concepts and best practices of patient interaction, patient rights, and ethical decision-making for the professional pharmacist, apprentice and student. In every chapter, the role of pharmacists in that chapter specific issues are detailed explicitly so that a professional pharmacist or a student can figure out his or her do’s and don’ts in that specific situation. Moreover, further reading references are listed as future recommendations. So, the book is an archive of potential references too. Among so many books about patient care, either doctors’ or nurses’ roles are highlighted. The proposed book highlights the pharmacists’ roles and responsibilities to the most, separated from those of doctors and nurses, with the most recent information obtained from most publications in several journals, books, bulletins, newsletter, magazines etc.

Among the countless blessings of my Creator upon me is that I have been twice granted the means and opportunity to visit the Holy cities of Makkah and al-Madinah. May Allah grant this earthly Mi’raj to all our brothers and sisters. The second time was between completion of my medical degree at the University of Oxford and starting work as a doctor. In preparation I did some research and bought two books, Imam Jazuli’s Dala’il al-Khayrat, and Khazeena-e-Darood Sharif – a large collection of litanies for sending peace and blessings upon the Prophet (peace be upon him). My intention was to recite these while seated as a guest at the illuminated shrine of the chosen one (peace be upon him). The experience was sublime and while reflecting upon these written manifestations of the deep love the Salaf had for our Prophet (peace be upon him), I too felt a yearning to write something. After returning, during Ramadan 2010 I began work on this project. Since then it has undergone a continual cycle of expansion, editing and refinement based on my own (limited) spiritual development under the guidance of my teachers. Dr Hafiz Ather Hussain al-Azhari very kindly edited and proofread the completed work for me. I pray to the Almighty that He accepts the humble words and sentiments expressed within these pages and makes them a means of earning His pleasure and drawing closer to His Prophet (peace be upon him), for the one who has written and the one who reads, Ameen.
