First Published in 2017. This book presents a much needed practical methodology for the establishment of cost-effective reliability programs in nuclear or other high technology industries. Thanks to the high competence and practical experience of the authors in the field of reliability, it vividly illustrates the applicability of proven, cost-effective reliability techniques applied in the American space and military programs as hybridized with the avant-garde approach used by nuclear authorities, utilities and researchers in the United Kingdom and France. This emerged method will support a diligent effort in the enhancement of nuclear safety and protection of the health of the general public. The methodology developed in this book exemplifies the total integrated reliability program approach in the design, procurement, manufacturing, test, installation and operational phases of an equipment life cycle. It is based on lessons learned in space and military programs with certain methodological modifications to enhance practicality. The techniques described here are applicable to college instruction, plant upper and middle management personnel, as well as to regulating agencies with equal benefits; it provides a very pragmatic and cost-efficient approach to the reliability engineering discipline

The book in your hands is the second part of The Chiasm of Daniel and Revelation. Unique among publications on biblical prophecy, it looks at the books of Daniel and Revelation as if they were one book written by God through two men living hundreds of years apart. Author Allan A. Nueske uses the insight that the two books are connected in mirror-like fashion to simplify the confusing parts of Revelation by using the simpler book of Daniel, and he brings the stories of Daniel into practical application for those living in the last days of this earth’s history by his use of the parallel section in Revelation. Nueske describes how mankind’s creation provides the final witness on behalf of God, eternally resolving the great controversy over God’s law and constant love. He shows that the history of the church is a repeat, in many ways, of the history of ancient Israel.
Daniel and Revelation: A Rendering from the King James Version, shares Allan A. Nueske’s translation of the books Daniel and Revelation based on the King James Version. This is a perfect companion to his other books, The Chiasm of Daniel and Revelation (The Alpha Segment - Part 2) and The Chiasm of Daniel and Revelation (The Omega Segment - Part 1)

This is a book of reflections by A.A. members for A.A. members. It was first published in 1990 to fulfill a long-felt need within the Fellowship for a collection of reflections that moves through the calendar year--one day at a time. Each page contains a reflection on a quotation from A.A. Conference-approved literature, such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, As Bill Sees It and other books. These reflections were submitted by members of the A.A. Fellowship who were not professional writers, nor did they speak for A.A. but only for themselves, from their own experiences in sobriety. Thus the book offers sharing, day by day, from a broad cross section of members, which focuses on the Three Legacies of Alcoholics Anonymous: Recovery, Unity and Service. Daily Reflections has proved to be a popular book that aids individuals in their practice of daily meditation and provides inspiration to group discussions even as it presents an introduction for some to A.A. literature as a whole.

These key aspects will be discussed through a series of dedicated chapters, with topics covering auditing, validation, data analysis, microbial identification, culture media, and contamination control, etc.
by LOUIS GUTTMAN Fitting it is for the World Mental Health Year that a funda mental research monograph should appear, devoted to one of the universal - but perhaps inadequately recognized - problems of our times: mental health and personal adjustment problems of immigrants. Many types of demographic data on migration are readily available from a variety of official sources. Social scientists who have addressed themselves to the subject have many plausi ble hypotheses about sociopsychological factors leading to mi gration and the effects of migration upon later adjustment. Conclusions based upon empirical psychological and psychiatric research are few and far between. Is it true that a person who is willing to depart his homeland voluntarily for another country must be better adjusted than others in order to be able to brave the idea of making the change? Or is the converse true? While it would be of great interest to study potential migrants before they leave, and the conditions under which they leave, the present monograph is devoted to research at the other end of the problem. What type of immigrant adjusts well after arrival in the new country, and under what conditions? The unusual situation of Israel in absorbing, in a short span of time, people from many countries of origin afforded a unique opportunity for this type of study.
This is about the saga of a woman born into poverty during the Great Depression, her trials and tribulations during her growing up years, her early marriage, and her struggles in raising four children. After twenty years, she finally divorced her tyrannical husband and moved to the city of her birth. She successfully became a graphic designer and worked for a publishing house where she met her soul mate. They moved to San Diego, where they were married. Working together, they became successful publishers of educational materials called Whole Language, changing the way children learn to read. After seventeen years, that marriage ended in divorce, and she finally found time to once again devote time to her art, both painting and sculpting, before settling down to write twenty-one children's books. This book is devoted to a classical topic that has undergone rapid and fruitful development over the past 25 years, namely Backlund and Darboux transformations and their applications in the theory of integrable systems, also known as soliton theory. The book consists of two parts. The first is a series of introductory pedagogical lectures presented by leading experts in the field. They are devoted respectively to Backlund transformations of Painleve equations, to the dressing methodand Backlund and Darboux transformations, and to the classical geometry of Backlund transformations and their applications to soliton theory. The second part contains original contributions that represent new developments in the theory and applications of these transformations. Both the introductorylectures and the original talks were presented at an International Workshop that took place in Halifax, Nova Scotia (Canada). This volume covers virtually all recent developments in the theory and applications of Backlund and Darboux transformations.
The book describes in an entertaining way the life of the author from his childhood, with the antics of his age; his connection and stay in the Chilean Navy, the adventures he lived as a sailor on the Quiriquina Island, the naval base of Punta Arenas, and Valparaiso; his detention in the Quinta normal Santiago de Chile, in the jails and concentration camps, the torments he had to endure and the several times he was one step away from death, accused unjustly of sedition and mutiny in the trial of sailors constitutionalists, who opposed the military coup of September 11, 1973, although he rejected the seditious plans of the Navy officially, was not part of the group and his opposition was purely personal. It is human work that shows openly the horrors committed by some military regime that lived in Chile for 1973 – 1990. To write this book, the author traveled back to the past in the time he lived what happened; is written using the same language without sparing the original vocabulary of the youth of those years, remembering the moment, without thinking about grammar, presenting the reader the opportunity to live and feel the drama of the situation. The action, the adventure, and the drama are narrated with feeling, laughter, and tears of a human being.
